After the success of RIO 2026, the International Oldtimer Meeting returns to the Gruyère airfield for a new edition.

In 2028, Gruyère will once again resound with vintage engines and the rush of wings that travel through time.

The International Oldtimer Meeting (RIO) is back to bring the magic of historic aviation and vehicles to life, in a unique setting between lake and mountains.

For one weekend, every aircraft and every car becomes a storyteller. These machines are not mere objects: they are precious witnesses of our heritage, fragments of memory that continue to amaze enthusiasts and the curious alike, young and old.

About us

The APPA association

The Association for the Promotion of Aeronautical Heritage “APPA” was founded in October 2012 to provide a legal framework for organising the International Oldtimer Meeting “RIO” in Ecuvillens.

Its aims are:

Promoting aeronautical heritage in the canton of Fribourg.
Supporting projects to restore historic aircraft or keep them airworthy.

Today, it seeks to make a name for itself on the historic aircraft scene, particularly in French-speaking Switzerland. You are most welcome to join its ranks.
